Fighting dogs attack children: what's wrong with these breeds

Among all the variety of dog breeds, fighting dogs are the most shrouded in speculation and fear. Despite such “anti-advertising” of breeds, among dog handlers there are many admirers of fearless, brave, reliable and loyal dogs of fighting groups.

There is no arguing about tastes, and in order to develop rules of behavior with an animal that has a history with many years of fighting past, it is good to know the characteristics of the breeds and the best qualities that can be developed when training a dog.

The article provides a brief overview of the main dog breeds classified as fighting dogs.

Bull Terrier

This is the famous rat-faced fighting dog . She is elongated, like a rodent's. Small eyes are located symmetrically on the edges. The mouth is wide. The Bull Terrier has a very muscular body and strong legs. It weighs up to 35 kg. The animal's body is covered with soft short hair. The color is different.

The pet's owners affectionately call him "bule". If you raise a dog without strict punishments and restrictions, he will grow up obedient and balanced. Bull terriers are not characterized by causeless aggression.

If a stranger enters their territory, then, with the owner’s permission, he will give him a warm welcome. However, without the presence of its owner, any stranger on its territory will certainly be attacked. The dog has a well-developed protective instinct.

It is believed that the Bull Terrier has well-developed intuition. He reads the emotions of his family members with maximum accuracy, adapting to them. For example, if the dog's owner is sad, she will not invite him to play, but will try to share this emotion. In this case, she will lie down next to you and begin to feel sad as well.

Alano

This is a large fighting dog with well-developed defensive skills. Alano will never offend his owners, devoting his life to their protection. This dog's devotion knows no bounds.

The breed is distinguished by its persistent character, fearlessness and endurance. Alan's physique is massive. He weighs about 50 kg. The hind legs are slightly longer than the front legs, so they always stand at an angle. The coat is short and very delicate. The ears are small and inclined towards each other. The dog's jaw moves forward slightly.

This breed is quite rare. Today, efforts are being made to restore the Alano population. In addition to guarding and protective skills, the dog has outstanding hunting talent. He loves to track game when his owner is nearby. He also enjoys pack hunting.

American Bulldog

This fighting dog looks very friendly in the photo. She has big eyes and a wide mouth, so when she breathes through her mouth, she gives the impression that she is smiling. It is justified, because the American Bulldog, despite its massiveness, is a cheerful and good-natured dog.

Can be aggressive towards strangers. When walking your dog, put a muzzle on it, as there are many known cases of it attacking other animals. More than others, he hates cats. However, if you get a bulldog puppy with a kitten, they will definitely become friends. This is due to the characteristics of socialization. Animals that grow up together, in any conditions, will become friends.

Today, the American Bulldog is used for dog fighting, as a companion, and as a farm protector. Excellent protective and protective qualities, as well as fearlessness, are the key characteristics of the breed.

The owner of this dog needs to properly plan its diet. You should not overfeed your bulldog, otherwise he will quickly gain weight and will not be able to fully perform his work functions.

Alabai

The breed is also called the “Central Asian Shepherd Dog” or “Wolfhound”. It differs from other dogs in its gigantic size (60-80 cm in height), fearlessness and well-developed fighting skills.

Alabai is a difficult dog to train. She can love the owner infinitely, but at the same time have absolutely no respect for him. This dog's respect is manifested in obedience. With proper training, the wolfhound will obey and follow all commands. However, it will take time to reach a level of trust with him.

The Central Asian Shepherd is prone to dominance and has a stubborn disposition. Since this is a very strong dog, a confident and persistent person can cope with its negative qualities. It is necessary to show her that she is not the first person in the family. Only in this case will the animal be subdued.

Alabai is an excellent watchman. You can be sure that, in your absence, your home, children and pets are under its protection. He will never back down in a fight or leave his family in trouble. Without a doubt, the Central Asian Shepherd is the best fighting dog .

Walking rules

Walking outside is an indispensable part of keeping any dog breed. It is during walking that your pet should show its full potential in training and spend energy for proper sleep and digestion of food. Below you will learn the basic rules for walking fighting dogs.

Loads. Inexperienced breeders attribute the aggressiveness and activity of fighting dogs to their restless and bloodthirsty character, and only experienced owners know that qualities such as capriciousness and aggression manifest themselves when there is a lack of niche for a splash of energy. All dogs, and especially fighting breed dogs, need regular training with a lot of exercise equipment, runs and commands. Ideally, adult dogs of this species should be given at least 1 hour a day for complete and tiring training.

Protection. A prerequisite when walking fighting dogs is the presence of a strong and necessarily short leash, as well as a full-fledged muzzle

Such precautions will probably not leave your pet delighted, who will try to grab everything that comes under his nose, but this way you will protect both yourself and everyone around you as much as possible. Moreover, walking fighting dogs without these accessories in public places can be extremely negatively perceived by passers-by, especially by families with small children.

Fights

When walking these dogs, clashes and conflicts with other pets will simply be unavoidable. The first such meeting will be an incredibly difficult test for the dog owner - when fighting dogs smell blood, it becomes very difficult to stop them. In a fit of anger and rage, these dogs are quite capable of attacking their owner if he stands between them and their opponent. If there is any hint of a fight, immediately take the dog away, holding it firmly by the collar. Do not try to calm the dog down, pet him or give him treats - this may provoke the pet to throw out its accumulated anger on you. If a confrontation is imminent or already occurring, try to pull the dog away by the tail or hindquarters.

Beatings. Regardless of how your pet behaves, you should not use physical violence towards it. This will only irritate the fighting dog and give it a reason to attack you. In addition, fighting dogs are often very vindictive and can literally take revenge on you in the future.

Personal space. If, while walking your dog, you meet another pet in the company of its owner, do not rush to facilitate the meeting of the dogs. First, you should make sure that your pet is able to calmly endure the meeting and not succumb to provocations. Fighting dogs really don’t like it when their personal space is violated. The same goes for your pet's toys and accessories - never give them to your children or other animals. This will lead to anger and revenge in the dog.

Pit bull terrier

This breed has a huge number of enemies. There is still debate as to whether it can be kept at home. Pit bulls participate in fighting dog fights . In this matter they have no equal. During a fight, they are as aggressive and bloodthirsty as possible.

There were people who cared about animals who decided to tame a pit bull, giving him the opportunity to show his good side. They did it. It turned out that this is a very gentle dog that dotes on its owner. The animal is distinguished by loyalty, endurance and enormous strength, allowing it to resist in case of threat.

It will not retreat and will not leave its owners in trouble. The dog's body weight does not exceed 30 kg. It has short, often brown, fur, small curled ears and large black eyes. The pit bull is intolerant of other pets. He prefers to be the owner's only favorite. However, there are known cases of his friendship with domestic cats and dogs.

About breeds

The list of fighting dogs is not that long and numbers a little more than twenty breeds. Some of them are widely known, but not everyone has heard of others.

Below we will briefly introduce fighting dogs, photos of which perfectly convey the power and beauty of these animals.

  1. Alabai. This breed can be described as a guard dog. Its representatives are ready to perform excellent service at any time of the year, regardless of weather conditions. Alabais can guard their owner equally well, monitor a flock of sheep, or act as a hunter. In a number of countries they are used for fighting against other dogs. When choosing this breed, you should take into account the fact that its representatives are not very friendly towards other dogs and require serious training.
  2. Akita Inu. This breed in Japan represents loyalty. Since ancient times, it was used for fighting and in bear hunting to ensure a boost in morale among samurai. And today such dogs are put up for fights, where they show only their good side. But Akita shows open aggression only when protecting its owners.
  3. American Bulldog. The photograph of a bulldog well conveys its distinctive qualities: powerful jaws and excellent muscles. In England, its ancestors were originally used in cattle breeding. Due to long-term selection, the bulldog's fighting past is left far behind, but his strong temperament is still with him.
  4. American Pit Bull Terrier. This is the most dangerous fighting dog, according to most. But practice shows that the pit bull terrier is a loyal, cheerful and loving breed, each representative of which is always ready to serve its owner. Also used in the dog sport called weightpulling.
  5. English Mastiff. It is the largest dog breed in the whole world. The history of the fighting career of the English mastiff begins with the times of Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar. He was used in the arena as a gladiator who fought against tigers, lions or bears. Also, mastiffs were often released against the enemy in combat operations in war. Today this breed is distinguished by its affection for its owners and its kind attitude towards children.
  6. Dogue de Bordeaux. His ancestors participated in hunting and baiting animals, gladiatorial battles and wars. Even today, Dogue de Bordeaux is exhibited in illegal fights. But in calm home conditions, his fighting qualities appear only in the event of a threat to his family.
  7. Brindis fighting dog. This breed was bred in Italy, for which the Pit Bull Terrier, Rottweiler and Cane Corso were taken. He has excellent fighting qualities and is an excellent watchman. This type of dog requires the most rigorous training.
  8. Bully kutta. As the name suggests, this is a “highly wrinkled dog.” In Pakistan, this breed is used for dog fighting, which is widespread in this city.
  9. Bull Terrier. It is another one of the notoriously popular breeds. The media provided this reputation to bull terriers. In fact, these dogs have shown aggression and fought in the past. Today they literally idolize people and have a very perky disposition.
  10. Bandog. Representatives of this breed have a massive body and excellent watchdog qualities. Bandog is distinguished by pressure, courage and thorough calm.

All of the listed breeds are included in the top ten most popular. They are well known. Such dogs are bred by breeders, and they take root well in families, where they prove themselves to be faithful and loving pets and guards.

Cane Corso

One of the best guard dogs. Most often, there are individuals with pure black short hair, less often with light red hair. The animal's face has wide folds of skin that make it appear sad.

The original purpose of the breed was to hunt large animals, especially wild boar. However, over time, it became clear that she could be used as a companion and friend. Today the Cane Corso is considered a family dog. However, her friendly qualities should not be exaggerated. This is a guard fighting breed with a well-developed sense of smell and territoriality.

Her temperament is quite stubborn. A beginner will not be able to cope with it. To facilitate educational work, the owner of a Cane Corso should spend a lot of time with her. This way the dog will socialize faster and begin to serve. It is advisable to submit it for training to an experienced dog handler.

A well-mannered dog of this breed will become a devoted friend and reliable protector for his family. Advice! Never leave your Cane Corso alone in a house or apartment, as he may become offended and spoil things, for example, chewing on sofa cushions.

South African Boerboel

One of the largest dogs, whose weight can exceed 50 kg. Her initial missions are to protect farming communities and hunt wild pigs. The breed's loyalty and ingenuity have won the favor of a huge number of people. Today there are Boerboel nurseries in Asia, Australia, Europe, etc.

The color of the dog's short coat is light. There is a black and red “mask” on its face. The South African Boerboel's cheeks are drooping. There are folds on its face (only in adults).

The animal is characterized by balance and calmness. It is not prone to violent manifestations of emotions. As puppies, South African Boerboels are quite playful, however, as they grow older, their activity decreases.

Most of the day the dog sleeps or patrols the area, warily watching people passing by. It is completely harmless for children, even very young ones. You can safely leave her alone with them.

Ca de Bou

A small dog with well-developed powers of observation. Very hardy and strong. Weight – up to 40 kg, height – up to 60 cm. Ca de Bou looks like an American pit bull terrier, he is just as muscular and massive. He was bred as a fighting dog, but today the animal does not participate in battles, but is exploited as a family guard.

The dog's observation ability allows him to quickly react to any living creature that sets foot on his territory. From a young age, he adapts and socializes in a narrow family circle, quickly becoming attached to his owners. He would never allow anyone to harm them.

Ca de Bou are excellent protectors and watchmen. There is no need to teach them these skills; nature took care of this, endowing them with them from birth. As a puppy, a dog of this breed will begin to display protective qualities with loud barks and growls. It is worth noting that she has a well-developed mind, which allows her to classify a stranger as “her own,” if the owner is good-natured towards him.

This dog has a large, square head that harmonizes well with its muscular body. However, some owners over-fed their ca de bou, which makes them fat. A large representative of this breed significantly loses its guarding and fighting potential.

How much does a bull terrier cost?

The cost of any animal depends on various factors - the presence of a pedigree, the “merits” of the parents, the physical condition of the baby, and its exhibition prospects. Answering the question: “How much does a bull terrier cost?”, it should be noted that the price range today can range from 15 to 70 thousand rubles. The average price for bull terrier puppies in well-known nurseries varies from 30 to 40 thousand rubles. A lower price should alert the buyer.

Caucasian Shepherd Dog

Like the Alabai, the Caucasian Shepherd Dog is a wolfhound. This is one of the strongest and largest canines. The dog of this breed appears larger due to its long, dense coat. Thanks to her, the shepherd is not afraid of low temperatures.

Not so long ago, it was used exclusively in battles. In this matter, she established herself as a ferocious and bloodthirsty beast. However, modern Caucasian Shepherd Dogs have not inherited this fate.

Yes, they adopted endurance and intolerance towards some people from their fighting ancestors, however, they stood out for their more tolerant attitude towards their owners. Some representatives of this breed love their owners so much that they are ready to spend all their time next to them, without leaving a single step.

Despite the good nature and tenderness towards family members, the Caucasian Shepherd never loses its vigilance. She performs a guard function around the clock. She knows no fear or retreat. The animal will not hesitate to sacrifice its life to protect its owners.

In addition to these obvious advantages, the dog also has a disadvantage - stubbornness. To become disciplined, it needs to be practiced daily. The Caucasian Shepherd must learn to respect the owner, therefore, there must be a force element in its upbringing. This does not mean that the animal needs to be beaten, but demonstrating your physical advantage will not be superfluous.

Character of the breed

The dog is considered to be quite harsh, capable of causing pain and inclined not to spare its offender or thief. The American Bulldog truly is an excellent guard dog. Moreover, he can guard property, the owner, family members, and his own toys. The latter must be well trained with the dog so that it does not cause harm to other household members or pets if they decide to take the American Bulldog's thing.

Families usually forget that the American Bulldog is a fighting dog. She is very affectionate, happily licks her owner, who pays him the most attention. He adores small children, even allowing them to turn himself into a kind of horse.

Curiosity and the desire to control everything leads to the fact that this smart dog will participate in all household affairs. She is able to surprise with her actions when she is ahead of some of the wishes of the dog’s owners.

Dominant tendencies, stubbornness, and independence can make it difficult to live with an American Bulldog, especially if training is neglected from puppyhood. Also, other dogs or pets will not be entirely comfortable around such a harsh comrade. It is not recommended at all to adopt someone after an American Bulldog. He may mistake a new pet for a hunting object.

American Bulldogs love a firm hand, so this dog will cause a lot of trouble in training for indecisive people, older people and women.

Nutrition and care

To realize a dog's full potential, it is necessary to develop it physically. This happens both during long walks and during special training in an enclosure or on a playground.

You need to bathe your dog once every six months. She does not require additional skin care or cosmetics. It is enough to comb the wool once a month if you really want to. In principle, you can run it over the body with a special rubber glove to speed up the process of fur renewal. It's enough. It is recommended to trim the claws weekly.

The eyes are a dog's weak point. The American Bulldog breed can develop more serious illnesses against the background of an infectious eye disease. For this reason, you need to examine your eyes more often and, if necessary, wipe them with a swab of warm water or chlorhexidine.

The dog's ears are often closed, so when dirt gets in, favorable conditions are created for the development of infections. Ears should be examined at least once a week.

It is better to feed your dog professional food and give plenty of water. It is very difficult to satisfy this energetic and large dog, which requires a lot of protein to build muscles, with regular food. The American Bulldog's diet should include meat (beef, veal), dairy products, cereals, and vegetables.

Due to the tendency to allergies, new foods must be introduced gradually.

Dogs in old age can be affected by joint diseases, hearing and vision problems. To prevent this or delay the onset of diseases, it is recommended to take courses of vitamins, the intake of which should be consulted with a veterinarian.

The American Bulldog, although it has partially lost its fighting qualities due to their lesser demand in society, is genetically inclined to fight. You need to take such a dog with full confidence that you will have time to raise it.

Dogue de Bordeaux

Despite its massiveness and healthy appearance, this is a sickly breed that requires regular preventive examination by a veterinarian. A healthy and caring Dogue de Bordeaux will become a faithful companion and reliable protector.

Curiosity and activity are qualities that are not characteristic of this dog. He almost always behaves with restraint, concentration and calm. There is little that can provoke him into a vivid display of emotions. If a stranger comes into the territory of the Dogue de Bordeaux, he begins to bark loudly, thereby attracting the attention of his owner.

Despite the lack of excessive activity, you should not put your dog on a chain. This will make her unhappy. She really needs to communicate with her owners and loves scratching and other tactile contacts.

The appearance of the animal is unusual. It has thin red fur, drooping cheeks, long floppy ears and a wide mouth. Due to the large number of skin folds on the face, the dog looks sad.

Dogue de Bordeaux is ideal for owners who lead a sedentary lifestyle and prefer to spend most of the day lying on the couch with their beloved pet.

Care and maintenance

The small size of the dog does not create problems for keeping a pet in an apartment. A corner with a small bed, a little space for games - everything a Frenchie needs for a comfortable stay. The place for the dog should not be near heating sources or in a draft. Keeping in enclosures is prohibited.

Short hair does not create maintenance problems. Puppies should be taught to brush themselves as early as possible. No special equipment is required - just a comb is enough. The wool does not have a specific odor and rarely gets dirty, so bathing your pet 2-3 times a year will be enough.

Dog fur is a kind of health indicator. Shiny fur indicates good health. It is recommended to completely avoid swimming in reservoirs in summer due to the anatomical features of the structure - the bulldog is a poor swimmer. The risk of a wet dog catching a cold in nature is also high.

The French Bulldog does not need intense physical activity; short walks a couple of times a day allow it to stay in good shape. You can involve your pet in active games only if he wishes. You should not force puppies to climb high steps or jump over bars, so as not to overload the spine.

The pet is vulnerable to cold winds, frosts, high humidity, and sunlight due to its light coat. Warm overalls in winter, light ones - needed in summer to protect a lap dog.

Any aggression towards street animals should be stopped and restraint should be cultivated. Well-trained dogs walk without a leash and never leave their owner on their own impulse.

The folds on the muzzle and the tail adjacent to the body require special care - daily inspection, wet cleaning to prevent inflammation. Eyes and ears undergo the same care. If purulent discharge is suspected, a veterinarian examination is required.

Keeping your dog clean is the main condition for maintaining his health. Washing paws after a walk, massaging with a brush, combing out dead hairs, trimming nails if necessary will simultaneously bring the joy of communicating with the family pet.

English bulldog

Not so long ago, this small fighting dog participated exclusively in dog fights, but today it is kept in apartments and houses as a family dog. The English Bulldog has well-developed muscles, a large muzzle and strong legs. Such indicators make him an ideal fighter.

As for security inclinations, representatives of this breed also have them. An English Bulldog rarely greets strangers in a friendly manner; even if the owner independently let a stranger into his home, the dog will bark at him.

The breed is known for being stubborn and touchy. If you didn’t please this dog, then don’t be surprised if the next day he doesn’t even come to you. To keep your bulldog physically fit, you need to exercise him daily. He loves steeplechasing. You can also take it with you on a run.

Dogo Argentino

A loyal and very hardy breed, which is famous for its observation and courage. Many consider the Dogo Argentino to be the best watchdog of them all. Perhaps they are right. He copes with the security task excellently. All members of his family are protected by the dog. Even in the absence of noise, he will not stop patrolling the area.

The dog never loses his vigilance. Even when he is playing good-naturedly with children, any extraneous sound will attract his attention. And you won’t have to wait long for the Great Dane’s reaction. His coat is short, so there is no need to comb it. In general, caring for a Dogo Argentino is very simple. Another advantage of the breed is excellent health.

Like most fighting dogs, he has a stubborn disposition. The Dogo Argentino is not easy to please. He will listen only to a morally stable and strong person. In order to raise a strong and obedient dog from a Great Dane puppy, you should start training it from the age of 3 months.

Before buying a puppy of this breed, you also need to take into account its abundant saliva production. Because of this, it is not easy to keep a pet in an apartment; he will splash everything with his saliva. The Dogo Argentino is a street dog that will only feel comfortable in a large area.

Staffordshire Terrier

One of the most popular fighting breeds. The dog is called "Stafford" for short. It is quite large, from 40 kg. The breed was bred in the USA. Now she is one of the most scandalous in the world. The fact is that the media regularly broadcast cases of attacks by Staffordshire terriers on people and animals.

The attack of this dog can be fatal, because it has fighting parameters that allow it not only to inflict damage on its opponent, but also to kill him. Yes, the breed's temperament is truly fighting. However, with proper training, the dog will not become aggressive.

If you love fighting dogs, then you can safely get a Staffordshire Terrier. But there is a big “but”. An animal will become obedient and controllable only if it respects its owner. And it’s not easy to instill such an attitude in him.

Stafford must understand that he is morally and physically weaker than his master, then he will begin to obey him. Therefore, if you are not ready to impose your authority on this dog, then it is better to refuse to buy it.

Most American Staffordshire Terriers are very gentle and kind towards the people who live with them. This proves the fact that they are not dangerous.

Fighting dogs attack children: what's wrong with these breeds

Conversations about how “we need to come up with something” for large dogs living in cities arise after every emergency.

Photo: GLOBAL LOOK PRESS

Last week’s news “about dogs” is like a front-line report. Over the past week, there have been at least 5 reports from different parts of the country about dog attacks on small children. In the Volgograd region, a neighbor's Alabai bit his one-year-old baby to death.

Near Ufa, a pit bull that escaped from the site attacked a 5-year-old girl. The child was taken to the hospital with lacerations to his chest, abdomen and legs.

In Nizhnyaya Salda (this is already the Urals), a German shepherd running around the courtyard of a high-rise building bit children aged 3 and 12 years. The dog grabbed the little boy by the face with his teeth - good, a pensioner was nearby and drove him away.

This year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs approved a list of potentially dangerous dog breeds

Photo: Evgenia GUSEVA

The most recent case is in Moscow. West of the city. Apartment. Young family with a small child. The day before, my grandfather brought his adult Dogo Argentino, asking his family to look after him for a couple of days. An eight-month-old boy was rushing around the room in a baby walker (this is a “chair” on wheels - Author). At some point, the mother was distracted for a second, the playful child jumped up to the dog on a walker and grabbed it by the tail. The dog attacked the baby, biting him on the head several times. The bleeding boy was taken to intensive care. Now his life is no longer in danger, but instead of a face he now has one continuous scar... They decided to euthanize the Great Dane.

Different cities. Different breeds of dogs. Not only those who are usually called fighters, but all of them are big. Four children were injured (including one who miraculously survived), one died.

Conversations about how “we need to come up with something” for large dogs living in cities arise after each such emergency.

Now you can get a fine of 2 thousand rubles for walking without a muzzle and a leash.

Photo: GLOBAL LOOK PRESS

Chairman of the Moscow City Duma Committee on Security (and part-time owner of several dogs, large and small - Author) Inna Svyatenko believes that the number of dog attacks can be reduced to a minimum only by tightening the rules.

- First. A register of domestic dogs should be created, says the deputy. — So that all pets are entered into a single database, so that city authorities know for sure whether a person has a German shepherd here or a bulldog here. Second. All owners should be required to take “Dog in the City” courses. They are conducted by kennel clubs. There they teach the basics of training and proper maintenance of an animal in an apartment, and talk about the administrative liability that threatens for violations.

But the president of the regional public organization “Cynology XXI Century” Konstantin Karapetyants is confident that the most effective measure is powerful fines.

“We are always trying to fight dangerous phenomena with some half-measures,” says the specialist. — For example, the Ministry of Internal Affairs compiled a list of potentially dangerous dog breeds (see “By the way”). What for? All dogs are potentially dangerous if they have not received proper training and are in the hands of an idiot. You've probably seen them like this: he goes out into the yard with a huge dog, which he never trained because of his laziness and stupidity, and considers himself the master of life. Now you can get a fine of 2 thousand rubles for walking without a muzzle and a leash. And what is it? In Moscow, this means going to the store once to buy bread. In addition, no one collects these fines. The police, as they explain to us, don’t get around to it. Listen, in the civilized world everything has already been invented a long time ago. Why are there no bans on walking dogs in parks and other public places in many European countries? Because for every violation there is a gigantic fine, which does not just exist on paper, you actually have to pay it.

In short, the dog handler firmly believes that fines need to be increased.

All owners should be required to take “Dog in the City” courses. They are conducted by kennel clubs

Photo: GLOBAL LOOK PRESS

— I went out with the dog without a leash and muzzle. Pay 100 thousand rubles. Did your dog attack someone? Pay 500 thousand,” continues Karapetyants. “When a person’s own carelessness hits hard in his pocket, only then will he begin to follow the rules.” You see, it all starts with little things. We also have fines for a dog pooping on the lawn. But no one is fining anyone. I know the Swiss experience. There, the policeman is motivated by collecting such fines, because his salary is also based on them. I saw a bunch of them, took a sample - they had special test tubes with them - and sent them to the laboratory. And in the laboratory, imagine, using the DNA database they find out which dog left this “trace”. Because when you get a dog, you are required to register it and provide DNA samples. And the person who did not remove his dog’s feces from the lawn receives a fine of 5 thousand euros by mail. Of course, he won’t make such a mistake a second time. We often pass the right laws, but forget to supplement them with by-laws: who is ultimately responsible for regulating this law. I hope something changes.

BY THE WAY

This year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs approved a list of potentially dangerous dog breeds. This list is amendments to the Law on the Responsible Treatment of Animals, which will come into force on January 1, 2020. 12 breeds and their mestizos, according to experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, are “genetically determined qualities of aggression.” Therefore, walking with them on the street without a muzzle is prohibited. According to Russian laws, violations can be fined 2 thousand rubles.

Who's on the list? American Bandog, Bandog, Pit Bull Mastiff, Ambuldog, Bully Cutta, Brazilian Bulldog, Gul Dong, North Caucasian dogs, wolf-dogs and wolf-dog hybrids, Akbash, purebred Alapaha bulldog, wolf hybrid and mestizos (mixes) of the listed breeds.

IMPORTANT!

What now threatens owners of dogs that attack people?

— Violation of the rules for walking dogs (including appearing in public places without a leash and muzzle) — a fine of up to 2,000 rubles.

- Appearance without a leash and muzzle in natural and environmental protection zones - a fine of 2000-3000 rubles.

— A dog attack on someone else’s pet (with its injury or death) — a fine of 4000-5000 rubles.

— An attack by a dog on a person causing, through negligence, slight or moderate harm to health — a fine of 4,000-5,000 rubles. (if there is serious harm, a criminal case is opened).

- Setting dogs on people and animals - a fine of 2000-5000 rubles.

English Mastiff

One of the largest fighting winning dogs. She has no equal in strength and endurance. A fight between an English mastiff and any other fighting dog almost always ended in victory for him. He is a serious opponent who should not be underestimated.

Today, the English Mastiff is increasingly being kept as a companion. The man managed to tame the temper of this dangerous animal with a fighting character. He happily learns any commands and carries them out with great pleasure. Raising this dog is exciting not only for him, but also for the owner.

The owner's approval is the best incentive for the English Mastiff. He reacts painfully to any criticism and tries to justify himself in case of failure. The animal communicates very tenderly with people who love it. He enjoys being petted and played with.

Protecting your family is the priority of this breed. The dog will not be afraid even of an armed man and will try to fight him back. Important! If you get an English Mastiff and do not train him, he can grow up to be an aggressive and dangerous dog.

Dogo Canario

Slender physique, strength and loyalty are the main characteristics of the Dogo Canario. He knows no fear. He is extremely attentive and observant. The Dogo Canario is an excellent protector. There is no need to train him to guard. While still a small, inexperienced puppy, he will prove himself in this difficult task.

In order for an animal to become attached to its owner, it must be tamed, starting from 2 months. The owner of such a dog must be a strong and morally stable person. In the absence of these qualities, she will not submit. Before taking part in dog fights, the Dogo Canario undergoes preparatory training.

Gladiator comes from Bordeaux

We are talking about the Dogue de Bordeaux, whose ancestors not only took part in hunting wild animals, but also performed in arenas in fights with bears and lions. The modern dog has no less hot blood, so very often the Dogue de Bordeaux still takes part in fights (illegal) with representatives of different fighting breeds.

Despite the “outlaw” status, dog fights have strict rules, including:

  • opposing dogs must have the same weight;
  • The dog must NOT use prohibited techniques. If this happens, the dog owner forces the animal to change the type of grip:
  • Bites above shoulder level and paw strikes are not allowed:
  • The owner is prohibited from encouraging his pet during the fight:
  • disqualification threatens a fighting dog if he attacks his counterpart at the moment when he has turned away;
  • the enemy is NOT finished off;
  • a defeat is counted if the owner of the dog asks to stop the fight;
  • In some countries, dog fights take place while wearing muzzles.

Despite the apparent strictness of the rules for conducting fights, many Dogues de Bordeaux died in the arena.
