The medicine is available in two forms: tablets and drops. The former may contain different amounts of active ingredients; for ease of dosage, tablets are available:

Purpose

Stop stress must be prescribed by a veterinarian and cannot be used for self-medication. Some components of the drug, despite their natural plant origin (including hops, valerian), can cause allergic reactions.

The medicine is prescribed:

  • with excessive nervous excitement;
  • to prevent motion sickness during transportation;
  • to prevent the negative consequences of factors irritating the nervous system.

In addition, veterinarians recommend using Stop-Stress when exposed to the following stress factors:

  • participation in exhibitions;
  • grooming;
  • visit to the veterinarian;
  • arrival of guests;
  • relocation, change of residence;
  • vaccination and others.

Dosage

Medicine with a sedative effect should be used as prescribed by a veterinarian.

Standard dosages:

  • to prevent stress - 3-5 days before the onset of an event that can provoke stress;
  • to prevent motion sickness of the pet in transport - immediately before the trip;
  • in case of increased sexual arousal - simultaneously with hormonal contraceptives prescribed by a veterinarian.

Important! The duration of the course and dosage are determined by the veterinarian individually, taking into account the signs of psychogenic behavioral disorders of the animal and the possible consequences of exposure to stress factors.

The medicine is given orally, on the root of the tongue, causing a swallowing reflex. Usually the daily dose is divided into morning and evening doses. The required amount is calculated based on the weight of the pet:

  • drops – 2 per 1 kg of body weight;
  • tablets - depending on the content of the active ingredient in the pills.

When using 100 mg tablets, the dosage is:

  • animal body weight – up to 5 kg – 1⁄4 tablet;
  • 5-10 kg – 1⁄4-1/2 table;
  • 10-20 kg – 1⁄2-1 table.

Daily dose when using 250 mg tablets (for large animals):

  • with a dog weighing 20-30 kg – 1⁄4-1/2 tablet;
  • 30-40 kg – 1⁄2-1 tablet;
  • 40-50 kg – 1 tablet;
  • more than 50 kg – 1-2 tables.

Instructions for use

To prevent motion sickness, the drug is given to the dog once 1–2 hours before the trip.

Stop stress in the form of tablets and drops is placed on the root of the tongue of dogs. It is allowed to use the product with a small amount of food, but there is a possibility that the pet will refuse the “seasoned” food.

To avoid stress during transportation, participation in exhibitions, and overexposure, Stop Stress begins to be used 4–5 days before the start of the expected event.

Possible side effects

Ordinary activated carbon can be used as a sorbent

There are no significant negative consequences for the dog's health. In rare cases, drowsiness and nausea may occur. Over time, these side effects go away on their own.

An overdose of the drug may cause indigestion, drowsiness, and nausea. In this case, the pet should be taken to the veterinarian for gastric lavage and sorbents.

When working with a sedative, you must follow the following safety rules:

  • refrain from smoking and eating;
  • be sure to wash your hands after giving the required dose to the dog;
  • owners of pets who have a personal intolerance to the components of the medicine should avoid direct contact with it;
  • Avoid using empty bottles for household purposes.

Restrictions

The herbal components of the drug can cause allergic reactions, so the medicine should not be used for animals with increased individual sensitivity. In addition, the ban applies to animals suffering from:

  • oncological diseases;
  • chronic pathologies of the genitourinary system;
  • diabetes mellitus

Important! Stop Stress should not be used by pregnant or lactating dogs.

If the drug is used for the first time, you need to monitor the animal’s condition: it may experience lethargy, drowsiness and nausea. This is not a pathology; such signs do not require medical intervention. Usually they go away on their own within a day or two. An overdose can cause negative reactions in a dog:

  • drowsiness;
  • vomiting;
  • intestinal disorder;
  • dysfunction of the liver, kidneys, and digestive system.

In such cases, it is necessary to urgently contact a veterinary clinic, where a specialist, after assessing the animal’s condition, will prescribe symptomatic therapy.

Does not affect cholinergic and adrenergic receptors. Reduces the manifestations of asthenia and vasovegetative symptoms (irritability, aggression, sleep disturbance), has a corrective and regulatory effect on the processes of inhibition and excitation in the central nervous system. A complex of aqueous extracts of medicinal plants increases the body's adaptive capabilities to environmental stress factors. In terms of the degree of impact on the body of warm-blooded animals, the drug is classified as a moderately dangerous substance and in recommended doses does not have a locally irritating, resorptive-toxic, mutagenic, teratogenic or allergenic effect.
