Operating principle
"Frontline Nexgard" belongs to the group of insectoacaricidal drugs with systemic action. Its active ingredient afoxolaner belongs to the group of latest generation insecticides - isoxazolines.
Afoxolaner contained in the drug, entering the dog’s stomach, dissolves, is absorbed into the gastrointestinal tract and enters the circulatory system.
When a dog is bitten by a parasite, the poison, along with the victim’s blood, enters the gastrointestinal tract of the ectoparasite, overexcites neurons and disrupts the passage of nerve impulses. This leads to paralysis of the nervous system and inevitable death of the arthropod.
Frontline Nexgard has a high impact rate on parasites. Fleas and ticks do not have time to lay eggs and introduce the pathogen with feces through wounds, microtraumas of the skin into the blood of the host animal, and also infect the premises. The first signs of parasite poisoning begin to appear 30 minutes after the bite. The death of fleas occurs after 6-8 hours, ticks after 12-48 hours.
Reference. The active ingredient afoxolaner breaks down slowly and is completely eliminated from the dog’s body through urine and bile after 3-4 weeks.
Pharmacological properties
Frontline Nexgard tablets are effective against Ctenocephalides fleas (C. felis and C. caninum) and ixodid ticks of 5 genera:

Anti-tick tablets for dogs "Frontline Nexgard": reviews
From dog owners
We tried Frontline Nesgard on the advice of a doctor. Our teammate’s dog died from incorrectly selected drops. They gave it with caution, but everything worked out. About five ticks were removed during the season. Already dead. There were no consequences. Thanks to our doctor and the French for a good drug.
Veronica Smyslova
The drug is good. The tick bites and dies (the price, however, also bites). I’m not worried about the health of my Chara. There was vomiting once, but it went away quickly. They gave the pill a second time and did not regret it. He eats pills with pleasure. If it were up to her, she would gobble up the entire package at once. Very easy to use and reliable.

I have a working husky. We often go hunting. I have been looking for a “non-breakable” drug for a long time with others. Hunter friends recommended French chewable tablets. I tried it and liked it. I use it almost all year round. At the same time, I treat the dog with a spray; tablets alone are not enough.

From veterinarians
Often in my practice I encounter illiteracy among dog breeders. Recently, a Spitz owner removed a tick from her dog after taking Frontline Nesgard and threw a tantrum at the doctors. Ladies and Gentlemen! The drug is reliable and has proven itself, but it does not repel ticks. He kills them after biting them! Read the instructions carefully.

I use Frontline Nesgard in combination to treat allergic dermatitis, demodicosis, and otodectosis. The dynamics are positive. The medicine is reliable, high-quality, and has passed many clinical trials. Has more than five times the overdose protection. Therefore, I calmly recommend it to the owners of my patients.

I used to use Bravecto in my practice, but after getting acquainted with Frontline I switched to it. The tablet is smaller in size, more convenient to give, and dogs like it more than other “chews.” You can give it with or without food, which is also very convenient. True, Bravecto lasts longer, but its cost is 3 times more, which is also not in its favor.
