Instructions for use of Covertal for cats and dogs

The liver in the animal’s body is a kind of filter. The normal functioning of the organ affects the general condition of the pet and its life expectancy. Very often the liver needs support. Malfunctions of the organ can occur as a result of treatment with potent drugs and antibiotics, with hepatitis and piroplasmosis. Liver function may be impaired due to improper, unbalanced nutrition.

In order to ensure its proper functioning, hepatoprotectors are used in veterinary practice, which are complex products made using extracts of medicinal plants and phospholipids that restore the structure of the liver and improve its activity.

Most veterinarians recommend the use of hepatoprotective agents of herbal or homeopathic origin, which do not cause harm to the pet’s body.

Such medicines include Covertal, a remedy consisting of herbal components, which is often used in homeopathy for the treatment and prevention of liver diseases. It promotes the removal of toxic substances from the liver , has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect, and helps normalize phospholipid metabolism. It has choleretic properties, activates blood circulation and eliminates bile stagnation.

The drug does not have an irritating effect, the substances included in its composition do not accumulate in the animal’s body.

Contraindications and side effects

The safety of using homeopathic medicines is associated with the high quality of the raw materials used and small doses of active ingredients. Strict adherence to the instructions for use and doctor's prescriptions will help avoid side effects of the medicine.

A contraindication to the use of Covertal is hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, which is accompanied by an allergic reaction. In this case, stop using the drug immediately and use antihistamines.

Considering that the drug contains medicinal plants containing alkaloids, the product should be used only as prescribed by a veterinarian after a thorough examination.

It is not recommended to use the medicine to treat pregnant animals and individuals suffering from gallstones.

If the drug is used strictly according to the instructions in accordance with the recommendations of a specialist, no side effects occur.

Reviews from dog owners

Zinaida, Luga. Our bull terrier is 6 years old. Suddenly my appetite dropped. Vomiting appeared, and I began to go to the toilet less often. The doctor noted dry skin. We took tests. The preliminary diagnosis is cholangitis. They prescribed a diet and Kovertal injections. The toilet became better after 5 days, and the dog began to eat normally after 10 days. Two weeks later we took tests again - everything was normal.

Svetlana, St. Petersburg. A 13-year-old greyhound began to faint. A blood test showed hypoglycemia, high bilirubin, LDH, ALT. They began to go for covert injections every day. After a week I felt better—losing consciousness became less frequent. Half a month later, they took blood again, and it turned out that the deviations from the norm had decreased. After a month, the fainting almost stopped.

The combined activity of Covertal's components is expressed in protecting liver cells and maintaining their activity at the proper level. The drug is prescribed to treat various liver diseases and increase the effectiveness of medications.

Dosage and duration of treatment

The volume of medication in one injection depends on the weight of the pet. 1/10 ml is required for every kilogram of the cat's weight. But the minimum dose is 0.5 ml. The standard course of treatment for hepatitis is 1 injection daily for 10–15 days. For chronic diseases, daily injections can be prescribed for a month. During exacerbations of the disease or in cases of severe poisoning, injections are given twice a day. The duration depends on the condition of the animal, but not less than two weeks.
